Here is the new Aquascutum campaign shot by Tim Walker. It’s SO CUTE! I shouldn’t be saying this, but when are we going to start seeing something INTERESTING from Australian fashion advertisers!? If you want to see some real fashion subversion, also check out this article on Pammy with Vivienne Westwood. Now before you go hanging shit on Pammy, remember, if nothing else, she is a good mum and deserves respect. I love her. And even more now.
Bon weekend.

Beci recently did a line illustration project with our favourite Melbourne art director. It’s a little bit outside of what she’s usually asked to do which just goes to show Beci’s versatility and ability to nail a brief. They’re cute little themed illustrations for Melbourne Tourism. They’re for MX which isn’t the classiest newspaper… So you can see that Mojo and Beci have really lifted the tone!

When I took on Murray, I wasn’t really looking for another photographer. But those of you who already know Murray will know what a persuasive and charismatic bugger he is, so after chatting to him for half an hour or so, I agreed to meet him and have a look at his work. His architectural work was subtle yet impactful, and when he introduced people into his scenes, they weren’t just blurred graphic devices but rather added playfulness, or dare I say ‘Life’ into the scene.
But it wasn’t until I viewed his film SALT, that I decided my roster couldn’t live without him. The film and the work had a spiritual element I had never really understood before then. It sounds rather dramatic to be speaking this way, doesn’t it? When the film comes out (very soon at the Adelaide Film Festival – and we will be running exclusive, really intimate screenings), I highly recommend that you immerse yourself in the landscape. It’s full of surprises.
To all my Melbourne friends, I hope to see you all at Arc One next Tuesday. Murray will be there too.

Oops, sorry that was meant to say Miranda Kerr. Grab the latest copy of Grazia to see who Australia’s hottest young creatives and entrepeneurs are. Jonathan is listed, as is the wonderfully talented Kat Macleod and jewelry designer Jordan Askill (Daniel’s brother and an Askill in his own right). He’s in good company.

I’ve started another partnership that I am particularly excited about. I’m representing the design division of Collider. Collectively they have a really impressive client base and they’ve attracted some of Australia’s best briefs. They’ll be on my home site soon with a full bio and folio, but if you’re desperate to see their work, just email me and I will send over their PDF. Collider’s clients include Toyota, Sydney Theatre Company, Red Bull and Mark Magazine. Andrew van der Westhuyzen features most heavily on their design side, and his work is so subtle and gently dark if there is such a thing!
I think the world needs more soft, sophisticated design. Don’t you?

Click to see the Jethro Cave fashion diary
I just wanted to share something really inspiring to take us all into the long weekend on a positive note (although long weekends by their nature are kind of positive…anyway).
I am such a fan of Gen\’s Short film featuring Jethro and Sophie so I was really interested to see this. He certainly is a chameleon and photographers can obviously draw so much from the guy. Does anyone else out there find him as enchanting as I do?
I guess copyright belongs to Hedi Slimane (just thought I should note that).
Bon weekend.

Jonathan is in a group show next Thursday at 6pm at ACP. I hope we see some friendly faces there. Should be a good show.

I just wanted to say a huge thanks to all who came along to the Beresford last night. There was a real mood of optimism and camaraderie and a genuine feeling that we’re all on the same team. Big thanks to the Shea girls, Tamiko, Kellie, Guy, Tim, Nicky, Ed, Matt, Marcella, Agatha, and Mark. Let’s do it again in a few months time. Looking forward to seeing all of you again.

Cick to see Beci’s house on Design*Sponge
Beci’s house in Brunswick has been featured on my all time favourite blog, Design*Sponge. If you haven’t seen Design*Sponge, I warn you, it is quite addictive, especially for members of Etsy Anonymous like me. It’s all DIY chic with none of the obvious commercial leanings. Just the lovely Grace Bonney and her community of artists, craftspeople and fans, all trying to decorate their way to a better, more real life.
Before I go on and on about it any longer, just have a look. I’m incredibly jealous and really depressed about going home to my big old Bowral mansion on an acre of weeds.
