Julian shot M&C Saatchi’s first campaign since winning Freedom’s business. I won’t pretend he is a multi-talented genius (even though he really is). The stills were used to make the TVC. But lets pretend just for the afternoon that he directed the commercial too.

Jonathan Zawada for Fanta
April 7th, 2009 § 0
Psychedelic artists are pretty thin on the ground in Sydney. Luckily though when Ogilvy had a mad psychedelic 60s brief, they knew where to find Jonathan Zawada. Here’s the first of two pieces by Jonathan. Fanta wanted to reference the past with 60s artwork for their new Fanta campaign, promoting the fact that (I think..!) it has no artificial colours or flavours. I’d better watch what I say, huh, or I will have to publish corrective advertising.

Here’s Jason’s Prada product shoot, which he shot in Milan recently. Not all still life photographers are created equal, are they!

Gen shoots for Monocle
April 3rd, 2009 § 0
My career as an agent has hit an all time high. My favourite female photographer (Gen) has shot for my favourite magazine to take on a long haul flight (Monocle). I’m so proud, I couldn’t wait for a proper scan. The story is on retail stores around the world who are flourishing despite, I can barely bring myself to say it, the “current economic climate”. I am going to throw my blueberry bagel at the next person who says that phrase to me. Go buy Monocle. It’s very luxury driven and when I buy it I feel like I am on a plane to go do something important.

Gen shoots her billionth picture for Peter Alexander
April 1st, 2009 § 0
Gen Kay is the James Brown of photography I think (hardest working woman in….in case you don’t get the reference.) Endless catalogue shoots in Japan have prepared her well for shooting Peter Alexander. PA really put a lot of love and care into their online shoots, with plenty of attention paid to make up and great casting! Gen shoots up to 91 shots in an eight hour day (yes that’s not 90, but 91!), all without breaking a sweat. They’ve been a wonderful client to work with over the last few months – they make it all very easy and I am sure they would say the same about Gen.

Australian Creative Magazine features Chris Searl
April 1st, 2009 § 0

The current issue of Australian Creative features this simple little piece about Chris. I sent the editor a few images, and I am really glad that Larissa has picked one that is proving to be a bit of a favourite. The latest edition of Monster Children is out now too. Chris’s folio is available for anyone who wants to see some gorgeous behind the scenes shots of Where the Wild Things Are. Chris was one of a ‘Max’-sized handful of photographers who were invited to shoot on Spike Jonze’s set.
Is there anything this man can’t shoot?
April 1st, 2009 § 0
So I nearly missed out on putting Julian forward for a really cute food brief last week because I always completely forget that he can shoot food! He used to shoot food for Vogue Entertaining and Travel before we met, but I always assume that he had no life before me, and I never remember that. Hell, he even shot a McOz once! This is something he just shot with the lovely Garreth of FATAIM. It’s for Garreth’s mate’s cafe in Bondi and it was a bit of pure fun. Garreth conceptualised it and hand made all of those origami napkin mushrooms. They’re both such clever sausages. Pun intended.
