I wanted to post a piece about Jonathan’s zine, kindly printed by Izrock publishing. But it has already sold out. I’m too late. This might be interesting info for the group at Clemenger BBDO who met with me and Lucy and Jonathan last week. A few of those guys got a free copy so guys, if you’re reading this, you now know you have a rare piece in your possession. It might be worth a great deal soon. Thanks for seeing us. Here are some samples of the amazing pics in the zine.

Anyone who has worked in the UK will know that shooting for Sunday Times Style means phones ringing for advertising work the following Monday. Jon shot this cover and beauty story (remember what having a tan was like? Seems like years ago…) A while back I predicted a trend that colour would be back in photography. I feel vindicated.

100 Photographers is one of Japan’s most prestigious photography publications. It showcases Japan’s best photographers. Gen has been featured three times and is one of the only (possibly the only) Western photographer featured. This year’s theme was Love and Peace. Gen’s work certainly is all about that. I am really pleased to see that they chose a shot from Gen’s Persia and Zola series that she shot in Tasmania while on assignment for Monocle. This shot was one of the images that helped Gen secure a McDonalds campaign that she is shooting this week. Of course images to follow!

Gen just shot this amazing story in Tasmania for Monocle. It was a beautiful three day shoot. Such an incredible opportunity to get to know her own country. The story was really detailed. I think five pages from memory. She had such a great experience and reckons that Tassie kids are the collest kids in the world!
See shocking scans to follow. Sorry Gen!

Here’s Chris’s latest story from Monster Children. It’s an Autumn story featuring all those between seasons pieces that seem to do just nicely for a Sydney Winter. The styling is by Lucy Goodwin, and the hair and make up by Nadine Monley at Names.

I’m a bit of a 50s pinup fan myself. I’ve got the Bernard of Hollywood instructional photography book for amateur pinup photographers. I just love the innocence and the confidence of those old pictures and that whole genre. Those of you who know Chris’s work might have seen a bit of a theme running through. He has quite a few of these gorgeous, healthy, strong, nymphettes with a come-hither-if-you-dare look about them in his folio and I really think it’s a modern day take on the old genre. And as they appear in Monster Children, the interviews are really genuine yet still cheeky, rather than the usual ‘what’s your favourite pickup line’ drivel that appears in norg-mags like Ralph. They’re pinups with a brain.

My career as an agent has hit an all time high. My favourite female photographer (Gen) has shot for my favourite magazine to take on a long haul flight (Monocle). I’m so proud, I couldn’t wait for a proper scan. The story is on retail stores around the world who are flourishing despite, I can barely bring myself to say it, the “current economic climate”. I am going to throw my blueberry bagel at the next person who says that phrase to me. Go buy Monocle. It’s very luxury driven and when I buy it I feel like I am on a plane to go do something important.

The current issue of Australian Creative features this simple little piece about Chris. I sent the editor a few images, and I am really glad that Larissa has picked one that is proving to be a bit of a favourite. The latest edition of Monster Children is out now too. Chris’s folio is available for anyone who wants to see some gorgeous behind the scenes shots of Where the Wild Things Are. Chris was one of a ‘Max’-sized handful of photographers who were invited to shoot on Spike Jonze’s set.

Beci has just completed these illustrations for a travel article in Sunday Life. They’re SO cute! I really want her to make Beci Orpin luggage tags, or better yet, one of those printed suitcases for my kids! She’s a big fan of Sunday Life so she really enjoyed working on the job and the art director was incredibly happy with it.
