We are very excited to announce that after months of planning and legwork, the Rebecca Wolkenstein Agency has gone on tour.
A selection of our favourite advertising agencies will hold a boutique exhibition of artists works over the coming months.
Publicis Mojo was bumped in today. You can see from the camPhone images that it’s a pretty amazing mix of media. Andrew is presenting a pencil print on canvas, Murray’s Academy Award nominated film, SALT, is on a loop on a big screen, Gen has presented the most divine film stills, and Beci has submitted a giant laser cut tree!
Next round will see Jonathan Zawada’s screen printed mirrors, Chris’s now not-so-secret Where The Wild Things Are on-set shots, and Julian’s headspinning wallpaper.
The show will then head to DDB and follow to Saatchi & Saatch, Lowe, Ogilvy, Droga 5 and more in the new year.
Some of the works will be for sale, please make contact with lucy@rebeccawolkenstein.com
Post script by Bec: This is a simple idea, but I want the world (or just my blog readers) to know how much behind the scenes work went into this by Cam and Lucy and I want to say a massive public thank you to my amazing team and artists for delivering as usual.
Chris shot Kit Willow Podgornik for Harper’s BAZAAR. You can check it out in the current issue. Or you could just get a subscription as he has half a dozen pages or more in the next one too.
Myer got the biggest shake up they’ve had since the Jethro Cave parade after-party incident. Vice have art directed Myer’s new look book and they chose Chris Searl to help them with their image overhaul.
Here’s a behind the scenes video that will impress any of you who haven’t ever been on the set of a boring old fashion shoot. They sound glamourous but they’re just bloody hard work. Lucky there are pretty girls and boys involved and some nice folk like the team at Vice.
Anyone who has worked in the UK will know that shooting for Sunday Times Style means phones ringing for advertising work the following Monday. Jon shot this cover and beauty story (remember what having a tan was like? Seems like years ago…) A while back I predicted a trend that colour would be back in photography. I feel vindicated.
So after years and years of working constantly despite not having a website, Jon has joined the consensus and decided that a web site might be a good idea. It is really comprehensive and beautifully laid out. A lesson to all you photographers out there who go for tricksy flash sites. On the topic of web sites, I just wanted to say thanks to Cameron for speaking at Trampoline in my place last night. He gave a really good talk to the group on what makes a good site and what doesn’t (from an art buyer’s perspective). I think he would be pleased with Jon’s.
Gen shot the latest Shibui campaign at dawn on the Victorian Coast. She also managed to get some amazing Super8 footage of Holly (probably pretty easy to do given Holly is AMAZING!) Where does Gen find this light? It’s so soft and un-Australian. I love Holly’s hair cut. If only I was 10 years younger. Oh, and stunning. Holly’s booker is Helena at Work for anyone who is interested.
Chris Searl shot this great POS campaign for Levis. Glue Society put a lot of attention into the overall display in the windows with really cute touches like a mop. Ok so a mop isn’t that exciting but I thought they did a really cool and interesting job. And Chris does an amazing job of drawing out models’ inner coolness, although the casting was pretty incredible. Kellie and Chris were a brilliant combination. Chris was completely Zen (or maybe it was just the 5am call time) and Kellie was her usual bullshit-free self while being completely charming with client and Host. There’s more Levis work to follow so keep checking the blog. And while I am at it, thanks to all of you who are taking an interest in how this little agency is developing. I see you all on the stats and just want to say thanks for your support.
Gen just shot this amazing story in Tasmania for Monocle. It was a beautiful three day shoot. Such an incredible opportunity to get to know her own country. The story was really detailed. I think five pages from memory. She had such a great experience and reckons that Tassie kids are the collest kids in the world!
